Laurel Flores Fantauzzo is the author of The First Impulse (2017), a nonfiction love story and mystery set in Metro Manila. It was shortlisted for the 2018 Philippine National Book Award and named a best book of 2017 by the Philippine Daily Inquirer, CNN Philippines, and the Philadelphia Inquirer. She is the co-editor of PRESS: 100 Love Letters (University of the Philippines Press, 2017), a queer anthology of women’s love letters across the Asian-Pacific region. She is currently an assistant professor of English at the University of Hawai’i at Mānoa.
