Catherine Zuromskis

Catherine Zuromskis is Assistant Professor of Photographic Arts & Sciences at the Rochester Institute of Technology. She is the author of Snapshot Photography: The Lives of Images (MIT Press, 2013). The book was a finalist for the College Art Association (CAA) 2015 Charles Rufus Morey Book Prize. She is also the author and editor of The Factory (La Fabrica, 2012), the catalog for the exhibition From the Factory to the World: Photography and the Warhol Community. Catherine’s writings on photography, film, and visual culture have appeared Art Journal, American Quarterly, The Velvet Light Trap, Photography & Culture, Criticism, and Postmodern Culture, and a number of edited volumes and exhibition catalogs. She is currently at work on a new book, tentatively titled First Person, on affect and the aesthetics and politics of evidentiary imagery in the age of American neoliberalism.
